August and September 2014

lfw-cropswapDuring August and September, BEST members will once again be running Crop Swap Stalls, where you can swap your surplus home produce for something else, or if you haven’t anything to swap and simply want to take home some really fresh Bentham local food, you can make a donation to the Practical Action charity.

What might be on the Crop Swap Stalls?

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Herbs
  • Flowers
  • Preserves
  • Honey
  • Free-range eggs
  • Home baking

The stall will be on the Main Street near the Post Office, from 9.30 till 11.30 on the following Saturday mornings: 9th and 23rd August, and 6th and 20th September.

About this website

The Bentham Local Food website has been compiled and designed by BEST – Bentham Environmentally Sustainable Town, a group of people from in and around Bentham who work to try to make it a greener town.

The website was launched, along with a complementary leaflet, in the run-up to Bentham Local Food Week 2010, which included over a dozen events.

In 2011 we staged a successful Garden Food Day.

The project was funded by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund, which is managed by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
